OK THIS IS MY FIRST BLOG EVER!!!!!!
Life at MerriMac Farm this winter has been a real challenge and I wouldn't blame anyone who has come from another
climate to leave the damp, grey and sunless northwest that it's been. But Bill and I (and the dogs and wild bunnies) have made
a pact to hang with it no matter what. The hope that springs eternal springs right up your behind, as Ian Dury said in a song.
Anyway, spring has sprung but it's amazingly cold. Yesterday, it hailed huge pebbles for at least a half hour, straight down.
We'll put the finishing touches on the building that we had built in the barn. Two sets of french doors and two sides with
windows and fully roofed, so that if the barn falls away, it will be alright. This gives us the ability to turn puppies outside
in the covered barn area when it's time. The pups are due April 14th. I will be sequestered for awhile, but my friends all
understand that we'll meet again for dinner soon. All Is Well, Merrilee
